This item is an insulated rescue stick for the safety of personnel working on high voltage electrical switchgear.

According to the electrical standards an insulated rescue stick needs to be made available to electricians working near high voltages, especially in confined areas such as switching stations, sub-stations or switching yards.

In the event of an arc flash or shock incident. These sticks can then be utilized to remove an electrical technician from the hazard.

Electricians must never use bare hands or any conductive material to remove a worker from electrocution as this will pass the voltage through the person intending on assisting the victim.

The insulated rescue stick unit needs to be available to medium and high voltage electrical users in open and confined areas such as switching stations, sub-stations or switching yards. In the event of an arc flash or shock incident. These sticks are utilized to remove an electrical technician from the electrical hazard.

ASTM F711, ASTM F1826  and OSHA Sub.  V sec. 1926.951(d), and have 100kv/foot or 100kv/30cm.

Units are supplied with certificates of conformance.
