Administering intravenous fluids (IV’s) is a life-saving procedure following severe trauma involving blood loss and in cases of dehydration. It is also an essential treatment in various types of shock.

We offer two types of drip sets – one with saline and one with Ringers lactate.

Saline IV fluid (also referred to as physiological or isotonic saline) is used for most hydration needs involving fluid loss due to vomiting, diarrhoea, blood loss or shock. It contains 0.9% sodium chloride (salt). It should not be administered to patients with cardiac or kidney issues as sodium causing fluid retention may place an extra load on the heart and kidneys.
